Italian Pavilion Dubai Expo 2020

"Infinity is a square without corners", a sheer beauty of cosmos that intrigues and connects all human kind. Add a gentle touch of Italian elegance and ambiguity and what was once just a dream became the concept behind Design International’s competition entry for the Italian Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020.

Design International and its talented extended team composed by art director Marco Goffi, sustainability and service specialists United Consulting and Hilson Moran, structural engineer iDeas, created a climbing facade, which gave visitors the illusion of an upside-down building that seems to defy the law of gravity. The pavilion's contemporary external and internal piazzas will host art exhibitions, entertainment, business and social events. The Italian Pavilion is a building in motion, a sequence of meeting places connected by beauty, represented by Italian gardens, waterfalls and indoor clouds. The customer journey will lead to a gourmet food area spread over two top floors where food artisans will be at hand to provide visitors with a taste of the finest Italian cuisine.”
