2025, A Year to Remember!

As we close the chapter on another remarkable year, we do so with an immense sense of pride, gratitude, and excitement for what lies ahead. This year was not just busy, it was truly historic for Design International.

We proudly celebrated 60 years of Design International on the global stage, a milestone that reflects decades of creativity, collaboration, and impact across continents. Alongside this, we marked 40 years in London and 20 years in Milan, celebrating the people, projects, and partnerships that have shaped these studios into what they are today. These anniversaries are powerful reminders of our legacy and of our responsibility to continue pushing boundaries.

This year also brought meaningful growth to our studios. Our Milan office moved to a new location, Foundry Napoleonic Eugenia, in the Isola Quarter. Set within a former industrial foundry, this distinctive space embodies the spirit of Milan, where heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary design intersect. It provides an inspiring environment that reflects the ambition and energy of our expanding team. In London, we reached another major milestone as our team was granted planning permission for the rooftop extension of our office at 163 Tower Bridge Road, paving the way for future growth and collaboration in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

Our projects continued to gain global recognition. Livat Shanghai was awarded “Best New Development” at the MAPIC Awards, an incredible achievement and a testament to the strength of our design vision, teamwork, and long-term commitment to excellence and to creating spaces that have a positive impact on the local community. Meanwhile, Lykli Noida made fantastic progress on site, bringing the project closer to life (estimated completion is 2028) and reinforcing our presence in the Indian market. In Italy, Porta Vittoria has been a project we’ve been following throughout the year 2025, and its construction is now approaching completion. It’s always exciting to see our projects come to life.

In line with the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030, we delivered the masterplan concept for the New Industrial City in Riyadh for Azad Properties, a strategic project focused on economic diversification, job creation, and sustainable urban growth. Alongside this, we continue to collaborate closely with our clients in the Kingdom, including Hamat Holding on key retail destinations, including Panorama Mall and Riyadh Park Mall, among several other ongoing projects.

Beyond these highlights, we were thrilled to win a wide range of new projects across the world, spanning multiple sectors and geographies. From early concepts to on-site delivery, our teams demonstrated creativity, resilience, and collaboration at every stage. We strengthened relationships with long-standing clients, welcomed new partners, and continued to explore innovative approaches to design, placemaking, and sustainability.

Most importantly, this year reminded us that our greatest achievement is our people. Their passion, expertise, and commitment are the foundation of everything we do and the reason Design International continues to thrive after six decades.

As we look ahead, we do so energised by our achievements and inspired by the opportunities to come. Thank you to our teams, clients, and collaborators for being part of this journey.
